Do you ever go on prayer walks?
It is warmer now in our tiny town, and I am able to resume my morning habit of walking around to pray for my neighbours.
I don’t tell them that I am praying for their individual needs, because they would find it strange that I would choose to pray for them when I may not know them very well.
That, however, is the nature of intercessory prayer. It is prayer offered on behalf of others.
I pass a house in the traditional style called : ‘Cat’s Ears’.
Many of our houses are built like this, with twin peaks that resemble cats’ ears.
I know that a young woman is living there with a baby. Her husband is hospitalized. I wish I could drop by with some food, and some supplies for the baby, but then I remember that we are in the time of ‘these days’ and dropping by is not allowed.
And so I pray, and I continue on , past the house where another young woman lives with her parents and her two young children. Her boyfriend left her when her youngest child was born, and her parents offered to have her move home.
Time passes quickly on a prayer walk.
Perhaps you are a prayer intercessor too. We are in good company. We know that Jesus sits at the right hand of God, and intercedes for all of us.

I hope that we could all wish others guidance to good intentions the way we wish for ourselves …
We may try many pleasures in the world but at the end nothing remains except the mercy and compassion of divinity in everyone and everything…
I hope I can forgive others as I forgive myself …

I came to realize that spiritual discipline and inner peace is the greatest divine wealth …
When the night gets dark
And the clouds emit a lightening spark ,
Water would nourish us with rain ,
to bring joy and transcend the pain ,
All things happen through us to gain ,
For our balance to regain ,

Beautiful! I love to go on prayer walks! I used to go soul winning with our church every Saturday. I sure miss that. It was nice to go with another person. Jesus sent out the disciples 2 by 2. It is so wonderful to know that God is with us even when we go by ourselves. Thanks for an encouraging post. We can still get out and pray as we walk. Prayer mapping we used to do as well. Anyways hope you have a great day! God bless.

Hi Sally! π€ You know I do and this is a great example and reminder of what a great idea this is! There’s a spontaneity to it as well, so being in the mindset of setting out on a journey with the Holy Spirit as the focus can make us available to God’s will as we walk through our towns or neighborhoods which can have very surprising developments, just the way you did being a praying intercessor for those in need along your path that you came upon! That is a beautiful thing and I’m sure our heavenly Father is so pleased with the effort and care you put into your walks, offering up prayer for others in need! Thank you for inspiring this way! God bless you! π π

Hi Sally! π·π Thank you and I like how you explained how your walks incorporated prayer specifically for those along your path as you arrived at their locations, making house calls like a doctor Sally!!! Very good thinking and practicing of your genuine faith in Jesus Christ! What you do to me is an example of how the Apostles went out to bring God’s word and the Holy Spirit wherever needed, and this type of service to our Lord, a kind of active gentle outreach is a beautiful thing! God bless βYou!β π€

LOL! π€ Hi Sally! Yea I said the other day I’ve been called a goof-ball in the past, I guess this might be an example of why and how I get funny ideas in my head or just go looking for laughs! But, I actually meant this in the genuine sincere manner of speaking how prayer is more powerful than medicine according to many people who are faithful and especially those who have witnessed miracles. The funny thing I do see in this comparison is I’m sure getting nice people like you to make house calls to pray is as easy as pie, but try getting a doctor that does and I’ll bet that will be nearly impossible these days! And having the faithful pray for a given person in need to seek God’s help in healing or overcoming an actual problem is free; what doctor could be going out on that kind of mission! π· π π π

I have been an intercessor for many years, but just can’t seem to be able to concentrate on prayer while walking. I need quiet and no distractions. You are blessed to be able to pray and get exercise and fresh air and enjoy the scenery all at the same time. But when “closed” in my bedroom I can pray for hours. Everyone has their best place to pray, and the beauty of it is the Lord isn’t much interested in where we do it as long as we are obedient to actually do it with a sincere heart. He answers all kinds of prayers wherever we pray them. God bless you Sally as you walk and pray.

I love this! I will have to start doing prayer walks! I usually pray at night and then feel bad when I fall asleep before I get to everyone. I know you cannot drop by to help the mom with the baby, but would you be able to leave a note on her door with your phone number to say you want to drop off supplies to her? Or drop off the supplies just outside the door so there is no “interaction”? We all have coolers here in front of our houses for supply drop-offs. Your prayer walks are very inspiring! Thank you for sharing such a beautiful act!

Thanks, Rachel ! That is a good idea about writing a note to the young mom. Having coolers in front of your houses is good for supply drop -offs.

Good morning Ms Sally, that is such a beautiful thing to do. When someone is praying for me it gives a sense of comfort and security and even though your neighbors are not privy to your thoughts and actions at this time. I pray that they feel the are embraced by the security, love and peace of God’s love.
Thank you Ms Sally.

I love prayer walks!
If I’m by myself, I can only concentrate on walking and praying if I pray aloud.
If I’m going on a prayer walk with my neighbor or my friend, I literally have to stop on the sidewalk and pray aloud when it’s my turn. I just can’t concentrate on walking and praying if there’s someone with me.
Who knows why? Not me π

I miss those tiny towns living. Where everyone knows everyone’s business. It is great. Big city living looks down on this and people are isolated. Therefore nobody knows anybody’s problems and people don’t receive the prayer they need. Luckily, I know much of my neighbors. I can pray for them and the person I pass on the road. Walking with God made me aware of the great unhappiness in this world… Keep up the praying. The world needs more of that.
