Desires

Are you constantly in awe of how intimately God relates to each of us ? As a loving father, he longs to give us the desires of our hearts. In many ways, those longings will be unique for each of us.

Last night I was eagerly hoping to see the pink super moon.

Alas, it was cloudy here, and the moon could not be seen.

However, early this morning, while the sun was already shining, the full moon was visible ! God had granted the desire of my heart to see it. It is the first full moon of the Spring, and signals the time of Easter.

Psalm 37:4 – Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

  1. True but I also discovered that sometimes God does not give us exactly what we desire.
The divine knows the best for us . This is why we should accept and be grateful to what comes no matter what even if we do not like it …

    1. Hi ! Canada varies in climate. Some areas are already very Spring-like, but here in NL we still have some snow, and we are looking forward to the giant icebergs which will be coming soon. πŸ€—

      1. Hi ! Yes, the population density is low here. Most of the population lives reasonably close to the border with the United States.
However, we are a unique island, and only joined Canada in 1949. We were a British Colony, and in most ways Newfoundland is more like Ireland rather than Canada. πŸ€—

      2. Hi !
Generally real estate values in more rural areas are less expensive than those in major cities like Toronto, or Montreal. πŸ€— Nova Scotia is a beautiful part of Canada as well. Each part, or Province of Canada is unique.

  2. There you go Sally! A personal confirmation for you, and this shows us how loving our God is, which is beyond our wildest imagination! One of my sisters called me late yesterday afternoon and told me “hurry look at the moon” as she was so excited about observing it too! I stopped what I was doing and went to an easterly facing window and saw it, only from my vantage point it seemed more bright and an off yellow hue, but still very beautiful and grandiose! Was I seeing this event so differently than my sister only because of location or more because of our mindset differences and then me rushing back to my other activities? This was for you and my sister an Easter Surprise and Gift. One important point I recognize is that you and my sister were calm and taking in the special event with love and patience while I was in the hustle bustle of trying to juggle a few end of day matters while getting dinner cooking; which tells me clearly what is wrong with the world! The man-made life has gotten too fast and outpaced our living for not just our own simple lives, but even our fullest appreciation of our God who makes this all possible and more! Happy Holy Week! πŸ€— ❀️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️ βš“οΈ

    1. Hi Lawrence !
Thanks for your kind comment. I am happy that you saw the moon too, and your sister as well. For sure, the moon looked different depending on where we were seeing it from. Because we are on the sea it is also fascinating how quickly the moon changes position.
Happy Holy Week to you as well, Lawrence! Seeing the first full moon of Spring is a tender experience, because our Lord and his disciples would also have seen the full moon at the time of their Passover meal, the Last Supper. πŸ€—

      1. πŸ€— Hi Sally!
Absolutely spot-on all that you said! You just reminded me of the term used in writing, artistic expression by all types of artists and indeed other human expression which in my case having worked as a professional photographer on and off for some years its crystal clear to me that what you said is the factor at work in what our experiences are like especially in contrast to someone else; POV. point of view!
Yes, let’s as Christians take in every little and grandiose thing we can possibly enjoy in the most Holy Week when our God and Savior made it all so personal and complete, allowing His POV and our own to coalesce into the everlasting plan. This is to me in a sense when it all really begins for us as the faithful; Easter is our opportunity to be reborn into the awe, mystery and everlasting perfection which as mere incomplete mortals can’t even come close to achieving without our loving God. We owe everything to Him alone! Amen. πŸ™ πŸ€— ❀️ βš“οΈ πŸ™

      2. Oh yes Sally! πŸ€— You are so correct it actually began a major altering of our lives and health; I used to experience this as to the negative effects when I would drive semi-trailers and be awake all kinds of crazy hours not sleeping sometimes more than a few hours straight. Lots of things became artificial after the advent of lights that we can burn 24/7; now this high tech world is evolving beyond perhaps our wisdom and desire to manage it or not allow it to take us over eventually. I just left this comment which follows on a fellow bloggers reblog of this information.
Good Matt! We focus on this Goliath technological race to cover the planet with millions of high energy electromagnetic devices which will further increase the bombarding of all human and animal life on earth to levels which common sense should tell us isn’t healthy, nor truly necessary for we people; but is becoming useful for the digital machines and networks which will certainly leap forward into a centralized hub of artificial intelligence and then who will be the group of humans controlling such power, or will anyone made of flesh actually be able to; once it has a mind of its own! Something very devious and anti-human is expanding exponentially before our eyes!
πŸ€— Yes Sally my friend and sister in Christ. I was just thinking as I worked on my heating system today how I was trouble shooting a problem with a mechanical/electrical system which wasn’t functioning but I could find the issue and repair it; but then eventually other components and parts will wear out or malfunction. I thought how we humans eventually cease to function and what helps us become whole once we are too broken or worn out. Our lives are a short term project and fit into a much higher purpose and plan than just going on functioning doing the same things that don’t lead to anything lasting in and of themselves but we keep trying; until God determines it is time to make a final evaluation and decision of what to do which each and every one of us! Lots we can contemplate and learn from our earthly or mundane experiences if we look at it all through the right prism or gain a clear perspective! I did finally after disassembling many components and cleaning or adjusting them have to run out to the capital city to buy an $8.00 plastic gear bushing or the whole system that I spent all toll about 12 hours restoring but in the end I couldn’t fire it up without that part! I asked God in prayer early today to help me get it right today so this wouldn’t have to be another night with no heat. All is well that ends well and with some serious effort God came through and I said to my sister who was wondering how I was doing; Hallelujah! πŸ™ πŸ€— ❀️ βš“οΈ πŸ™

      3. Hi Lawrence ! Glad that you were able to resolve the problem and that you were able to get the part that you needed. Glad that God answered your prayer for guidance on how to resolve this issue. πŸ€—

      4. Thank so much Sally! πŸ€— You’re so understanding and sweet! πŸ€— He is there 24/7 watching over us, and when I got weary yesterday spending many hours on the issue not solving; but then today I woke this morning with a renewed determination through my faith that the answer could be just ahead, so I pushed on not thinking how I may have to sit waiting for the pandemic to end with no heat on some chilly or cold nights! Was all good in the end! When I went to get the part the owner even brought it outside for me not to take any chances that I might get a new bigger problem! Amen. πŸ€—

      5. Oh Sally! I wanted to tell something important that I remembered I wanted to tell you when I was finally having a hot shower! The whole time while trying to repair the furnace/heating system I had my rosary with me after praying, the one a nice Catholic woman gave meat church when I was going through my major chemical injury to my pulmonary system that she had gotten at Medugorje, and blessed with holy water there. She had it with her during a very tough illness in the OR where she passed; but was revived and went on eventually to good health! What a kind caring lady she is; just like you! Amen. πŸ™ πŸ€— πŸ™

  3. He is faithful to grant our heart’s desires when we delight in Him. Glad you got to see the moon. I will get up early or stay up late to see something in the heavens. Such a treat! πŸ₯°

  4. Sounds lovely. I rarely see the moon from my apartment at any time. And it was raining last night. This afternoon I actually saw some tiny flakes of snow coming down for a few minutes. I wasn’t pleased about that. I think it’s raining again now. We have had quite a bit of rain lately though we have had some sunny days before the rain started. We had quite a thunder storm the other night, too. But spring is coming. I hear the birds singing more and that is a good sign.
