Did you know that singing has health benefits ? Many of them are listed on the internet, and in summary, singing promotes relaxation and a sense of well-being, it can boost immunity, and can help in toning the muscles of the face.
On a spiritual level, our ability to sing was created by God to praise Him. The Bible is filled with phrases encouraging us to sing, to offer praise to God.
The most sacred musical instrument is the human voice, and thus, for the first 600 years or so of its formation, the Christian church only allowed singing during worship services. All other instruments were strictly forbidden. Gradually the organ was introduced to worship, and now many instruments are used during church services as well.
I sing, and play my guitar every day , overlooking the sea. This instrument is a modern descendent of the lyre, which King David played.
As St. Augustine said : He, ( or she) who sings, prays twice. God inhabits the praises of his people.
I posted this picture today, and the grass is still relatively green in Newfoundland.

You reminded me of the words of a song when I was in choir “In the presence of his people, I will praise His Name, for alone He is holy, enthroned in the praises of Israel”

Something very magical about music, especially when lifted in praise.

I am thankful that the Lord will smile when he hears me sing but to be honest no one else would, considering how I sound when I sing π. So I usually sing my heart out in the privacy of my home.

That is beautiful that you sing at home. God loves the sound of our voices and they all sound exquisitely beautiful to his ear, and his ear is the only ear that really matters. π€

I do love to sing. I used to sing a lot. I still do, only it is often in my mind and not as much with my lips. Christian songs are playing in my head all throughout the day and so I sing along with them in my mind and with my heart. I need to sing out loud more often, so thank you for this reminder that singing is good for me as well as it gives my Lord honor and praise. I just struggle a lot with throat issues and so it is sometimes a strain for me to sing out loud, and sometimes I am with other people, too, and so I can’t just burst into song whenever a song is in my head. But, again, this encourages me that I must endeavor more to sing with my lips, too.

Singing is refreshing, helps to keep you gazed on God and refuels your hope!
I pray the guitar myself. Not daily though and not a Pro. It calms me and a graceful way of worshipping Him.
