Less Reduces Stress

A good way to reduce stress is to live simply. When you have few possessions, you tend to be more organized, because you simply have less “stuff” to manage and organize and be concerned about.

Do you find yourself sometimes searching for a pen that writes decently and doesn’t smudge ? Even in the age of computers, pens are still sometimes necessary.

I own two pens at the moment. One was a gift from my husband in 1990. I have never lost it, because I keep it in my purse, the only purse I own.

My other pen is a Japanese calligraphy pen. It is a beautiful waiting instrument, I use to write in my journal. I always keep it in the same place, beside my journal.

If we are serious about wanting to reduce stress in our lives, we might consider living more simply.

As my hero Gandhi said : ” Live simply so that others can simply live.”

  2. Hi miss Sally,
You always write very interesting articles that are enjoyable to read, and this article about less reduces stress is no exception.

However I was surprised to see you reference Ghandi as a hero of yours. I urge you to rethink that, because that guy is in hell right now. He was a false prophet, who led countless others to hell right along with himself.
There is only one way to heaven, and he rejected the narrow way.
So I recommend to you not to have as a hero someone whom God has condemned to hell, (Ghandi).

I bring this thought to you in kindness. 🙂

    1. With all my love to all , how would God be merciful and unconditionally loving if God burns people eternally in hell …?
There is karma that one reaps what he or she sows but God is just , graceful and compassionate …

      1. (This comment will be long, but it’s entirely scripture. I copied it from one of my posts that lists verses about hell and damnation. This way you don’t have to take my word for anything, you can read what God has said about hell and damnation)

        Matthew 10.28

“And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.“

        Matthew 13.49,50

49 “So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just,

50 And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.“

        Matthew 25.46

“And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.“

        Luke 12.5

“But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.“

        John 3.18

“He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.“

        John 3.36

“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.“

        2 Corinthians 5.11

“Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.”

        2 Thessalonians 1.7-10

7 “And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,

8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
        9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;
10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.“

        Hebrews 3.12

“Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.”

        Hebrews 10.26-39

“For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
28 He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”

        Revelation 14.9-11

“And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,

10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name“

        Revelation 19.17-21

        17 “And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;
18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.
19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.
20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.“

        Revelation 20.10-15

10 “And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

11And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

12And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

13And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

14And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

15And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.“

        Revelation 21.6-8

“And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.“

  3. Your article is so true. I have been listening to Neville Goddard lectures on YouTube lately. I really feel he is my teacher. Maybe, you might find them useful if you don’t already know. I also have a wordpress poetry site. I usually write a poem a day. stevenjameshumphreys.com

  4. I find it so strange that you have only two pens and never lost any. You are very concise and organized. I owned and lost countless pens. I find that as you get older you have to become more organize and more minimalist.

    1. That’s what I have found too, Beverley. I seem to be coming more minimalist every day. I also own only two books. One is my Bible, which belonged to my mother-in-law, and the book ‘Jesus Calling ‘by Sarah Young. I enjoy a lot of spiritual nourishment from reading excellent blogs like yours. 🤗

      1. Only two books! I wish I was descipline like you (sigh). God has placed friends such as you to teach me about organising and decluttering.
