Joe Fresh and Me

It was a day of great excitement when I, a rural Newfoundland housewife, travelled to St. John’s to grocery shop at a Loblaw store. They had , according to their website, 33 kinds of bread !

Then, in the middle of the store, I found a clothing boutique, with the label : Joe Fresh. I remembered that when the Rana Plaza collapsed in Bangladesh in 2013, the garment workers, who worked in deplorable conditions, were making clothes for that fashion brand.

I went into the clothing area, looking at the clothes, and touching them. My husband knew I was not shopping for clothes, since I am very frugal. Instead, I was praying for the people who made the clothing. I was also praying for Joe, the man behind the Joe Fresh label. The workers, and Joe, do not know that I am praying for them, but God does.
